WikiGacha rarities, from C to LR
On WikiGacha, a card isn't worth how much its article is read, but how good it is: rarity comes from its quality score, WikiRank's Q-Score, from 0 to 100.
Here are the thresholds of the seven rarities, how many cards each holds, what attack and defense do, and what these cards become in Lexicodex, where rarity follows readers. Made in France, playable in English: the game opens in your browser's language, and switches to French in its settings.

The Q-Score, WikiRank's quality score
WikiGacha doesn't count readers: it reads the score WikiRank gives each article, from 0 to 100. It combines the article's length, references, images and sections, compared with the best articles in its language, and loses 5% for each template flagging a flaw (Lewoniewski et al., 2025). A long, sourced, illustrated article scores high; a stub, low.
Its scores date from February 2026: WikiRank may have changed its mind since, WikiGacha hasn't: an article improved since keeps its February score there.
The seven WikiGacha rarities
| Rarity | Name | Q-Score | Cards in English | Cards in French |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LR | Legend Rare | 100, a perfect score | 8,162 | 635 |
| UR | Ultra Rare | 90 and up | 37,735 | 3,237 |
| SSR | Super Special Rare | 80 and up | 55,407 | 5,065 |
| SR | Super Rare | 60 and up | 210,776 | 27,623 |
| R | Rare | 35 and up | 1,143,636 | 141,500 |
| UC | Uncommon | 20 and up | 2,495,623 | 676,789 |
| C | Common | under 20 | 2,795,159 | 1,887,904 |
An LR takes a perfect score: there are only 8,162 in English and 635 in French. At the other end, commons and uncommons make up 78% of the English edition and 94% of the French one.
Pull odds
WikiGacha doesn't publish odds per rarity. Its rule book only says: 5 cards per pack, one more pack every minute up to 10, and after 10 packs opened, the next one guarantees an SR or better. Daily missions and ads give more. What is known is each rarity's share of the game:
| Rarity | Share of the English edition | Share of the French edition |
|---|---|---|
| LR | 0.12% | 0.023% |
| UR | 0.56% | 0.12% |
| SSR | 0.82% | 0.18% |
| SR | 3.1% | 1% |
| R | 17% | 5.2% |
| UC | 37% | 25% |
| C | 41% | 69% |
That's not a drop rate: it would be one if every card were drawn at random from the whole edition, which WikiGacha doesn't say. The guaranteed pack every ten is already enough to give more SR-and-up than these shares. Its creator warned at launch that commons come out in surprising numbers (ITmedia, March 3, 2026, in Japanese).
The rates going around (0.5% LR, 2% UR…) come from a fan site, not the game: they don't fit its catalog, where LRs make up 0.12% of the English edition.
Attack and defense
A card's attack comes from its article's pageviews, its defense from the article's length, each multiplied by rarity and capped at 15,000. So rarity isn't everything: the French LR "Crimes de guerre en Pologne occupée pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale", thorough but little read, has only 3,809 attack, while the SSR "Beauvais" has 9,098.
What a WikiGacha card is worth in Lexicodex
Lexicodex does the opposite: rarity follows readers, the median of the article's monthly views over twelve months. The same article can be an LR in one game and a common in the other:
| Article | WikiGacha | Lexicodex |
|---|---|---|
| Second Triumvirate | LR (Q-Score 100) | Uncommon (10,546 views a month) |
| Crimes de guerre en Pologne occupée pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale (French) | LR (100) | Common (279) |
| Beauvais (French) | SSR (83.4) | Epic (8,490) |
| 2B14 Podnos (French) | C (12.5) | Common (63) |
Lexicodex tiers, for English Wikipedia:
- Mythic: over 150,000 views a month, about 1,400 articles (Taylor Swift, Napoleon, Minecraft…)
- Epic: over 48,000, about 10,200 articles
- Rare: over 15,600, about 41,900 articles
- Uncommon: over 9,300, about 42,600 articles
- Common: every other article above 200 views a month, about 1.8 million of them
When you import your backup, every English and French Wikipedia article becomes a card at its Lexicodex rarity: an LR won't necessarily land as mythic, a common may land as epic. How: save your WikiGacha progress.
Frequently asked questions
How does WikiGacha decide a card's rarity?
From its article's Q-Score, WikiRank's quality score: 100 for an LR, 90 and up for a UR, 80 for an SSR, 60 for an SR, 35 for an R, 20 for a UC, and below that a C.
What do LR, UR, SSR, SR, R, UC and C mean?
Legend Rare, Ultra Rare, Super Special Rare, Super Rare, Rare, Uncommon and Common: from rarest to most common, the names Japanese gachas use.
What are the odds of pulling an LR?
WikiGacha doesn't publish its odds. LRs make up 0.12% of the English edition and 0.023% of the French one; every 10 packs, the next one guarantees at least an SR.
Why isn't a famous article an LR?
Because WikiGacha scores the article's quality, not its fame: a famous but uneven page can stay SSR, while a thorough history page reaches 100. Fame counts toward attack.
Does the Q-Score set WikiMasters rarity too?
No: WikiMasters counts the article's monthly views. See WikiMasters rarities.
Can I keep my WikiGacha cards in Lexicodex?
Yes: export your backup from WikiGacha and drop it on the Import page. It's decrypted in your browser, and nothing changes on WikiGacha.
Is Lexicodex available in English?
Yes. The game opens in English if that's your browser's language, and you can switch between English and French in its settings. Cards come in both languages too: articles from the English and French Wikipedias, words from the English and French Wiktionaries.
Is Lexicodex affiliated with WikiGacha?
No. Lexicodex is an independent game published by Tusmo; it is affiliated with neither WikiGacha, WikiRank nor the Wikimedia Foundation.
